    Installing Debian via Ubuntu

    Hi all!

I am kinda new to Linux and such (still not a complete noob), and I am wondering if there is a way to install Debian without an install CD, directly from Ubuntu?

    Hi,

I think this isnīt a good idea. You can try to change your /etc/apt/sources.list for Debian, but i think this wonīt work. Installing Debian from CD is the best way.

I agree with tampa and think you should install whatever distro you want from its own installation CD. You are only asking for trouble when you start mixing them, in my opinion.

    Hey,
I guess if you want to install Debian on local machine via Ubuntu you need Vmware. Before that you just need to download Debian from net and give its path in VMware.
    Or
If you want to install on network machine via Ubuntu you need NFS.
