xmms problem with debian etch

I am using debian etch . Could not get my xmms working. No menu items can be seen. also cannot play any mp3 or other music files.

so all u need to play mp3??
then try thse command
#apt-get update
#apt-install beep-media-player
#apt-get install amarok

these will work if u hvae an Inetconection

thanks for the help. I am already having tools that plays MP3 well. I want to correct the problem with xmms. I think I have to install some fonts as no menu labels are visible. Please help somebody.
