    Another LimeWire issue...

Alright guys, ready for this one again?? I'm not some dumbass that just posts questions before reading through the forums to help myself find the answer so dont worry about that.

Alright I've been running Debian for years, I've also had LimeWire on Debian for years. Somehow I managed to break my Debian installation and had to reinstall the whole OS. Heres the issue...

Naturally i downloaded the LimeWireLinux.deb file from limewire.com and its sitting in my home folder. dpkg -i Limewirelinux.deb returns this:

    prometheus:/home/alex# ls
Desktop downloads LimeWireLinux.deb music pics toolz
    prometheus:/home/alex# dpkg -i LimeWireLinux.deb
    Selecting previously deselected package limewire-basic.
(Reading database ... 121344 files and directories currently installed.)
    Unpacking limewire-basic (from LimeWireLinux.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of limewire-basic:
    limewire-basic depends on sun-java5-jre | sun-java6-jre | sun-java5-jdk | sun-java6-jdk; however:
    Package sun-java5-jre is not installed.
    Package sun-java6-jre is not installed.
    Package sun-java5-jdk is not installed.
    Package sun-java6-jdk is not installed.
    dpkg: error processing limewire-basic (--install):
    dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    limewire-basic
    prometheus:/home/alex#

After installing BOTH JRE 6 and JDK 6 and running dpkg again, it returned the same errors.

I also tried figuring out what the hell was wrong with limewire-basic in synaptic and when i tried to install it it said this:

    "limewire-basic:

Package limewire-basic has no available version, but exists in the database.
This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available with the contents of sources.list"

So, my question to anyone who can help me is this... What the hell? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Gods of Linux.

    welcome to the forum

on my debian setup limewire works fine:
    #1 is setup /usr/local/jre1.5.0_06
    (from jre-1_5_0_06-linux-i586.bin.gz)
    #2 is /usr/lib/LimeWire
    (from limewire-free_4.12.0-1_i386.deb)
suggest you purge or remove in some other way
"jre-1_0_5", "jre-1_0_6" and "limewire" then shutdown,
wait a short while before rebooting.
