    Debian Server...

    Hello,
I'm planning on using Debian on a server for a windows network. I currently have a hard drive with the data on it that I would like to be on my server. Can I just pull that HD from the current windows machine & put in my new server?? It has several partitions, all being NTFS. (It is a secondary hd on the windows machine, it doesn't have the OS) I don't know how much Linux can work w/NTFS (I thought at least in the past that it couldn't) I didn't know if I needed to put all of that data on a FAT drive so that the windows machines can access it?

Or if it would be best all around to put data on a FAT formatted drive??

    Thanks...

    Howdy,
I know when using NTFS with win, it "Opens" up a array of permissions that I can delegate. I thought with the FAT system you don't really have that? Is this true?

    Thanks...
