Hello,
I will begin with I don't have anything in place yet, but I'm in the planning stages. (I am mostly awaiting the machine I'm going to use to be here) I'm reading & reading - Trying to prepare before I do much hands on.

Anyway, I've asked about which Dist of Linux to use on a server. I've decided - With help - ( Which I appreciate!) To use Debian. I want to be able to remotely access my server & upload/download files. I guess in my mind, I envision the interface found on some online storage sites. Would this take a type of software application/package to put on my server? I would rather not reinvent the wheel if something easy to use already exists. I would rather modify the wheel for my vehicle. I hope I'm making sense here.
On my local network, the server will be mostly a file server for windows machines - So, I will be using SAMBA.

If anyone has some good suggestions on "methodology" to go about this I am more than willing to take advice. If you know some good articles to read, please direct me there. Any good ice cream let me know - Whoops!

I appreciate it.
