i want to download Debian from Debian GNU/Linux on CDs
for i386 , the thing is this
debian-40r1-i386-CD-1.iso.torrent
numbered 1-20, does it really take 20 cd's to install debian??

Welcome to the forums!

I think you only need the first four CDs for an installation. The others are all extra software.
You might want to consider the netinstall.oz

i just downloaded the live-etch iso, i'm gonna try that out first.
so about four cd's install debian on my hd, ok, thank.
hey is the 'etch' a good version of debian for newbies??

Etch is a stable version of Debian and its prefect for everyone.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
