The sound on my user wont work. I just created a new user and deleted my old user on my debian system, and now on the new user i created the sound doesent work.. but when I log into root the sound does work.. Here is what it says on my newly created one when I click the sound button onthe top right;
Code:The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control This means either that you dont have the right Gstreamer plugins installed, or that you dont have a sound card configured

Have you made sure new user belongs to audio group, cdrom group or whatever? That sort of stuff. $ groupadd irishbogpete audio. Then reboot.
