    pppoe cannot connect

ok etho connects just fine and i setup my ppo the same way i do on
Mandriva 2007 same login same password, but it says unable to connect.
and with just etho connected i can't surf the web or anything without
    ppo being connected.
    Help..

    ps
in ppo properties, when i click auto detect modem, it says it cannot
find modem, so i picked /dev/modem, is that correct option??

here sumthin weard, in mandriva when i want to connect to
the internet i have to disconnect etho and ppo and then
connect just ppo, and i'm connected, i tryed that with
debian and it won't work of course because i can't
    start ppo.

i checked the ppo properties in the Debian-System-NetworkAdmin
menu and it show" ipv6 stuff "in the address part of the properties,
    should that be??

here is what i have done:

i installed "ppp" and "pppoeconf" from cd
i ran pon dsl-provider and it showed: rp-pppoe.so loaded
i ran ifconfig ppo and it showed: ppo fetching interface not found

    but my eh0 is connected.

and in my /etc/ppp folder there:
"ipv6-down" and "ipv6-up" files in there,
    don't know if that helps
and my chap-secret file's "login" and "password"
    are correct.

don't know what i'm doing wrong..
