    I am having an issue with the internet, the installation went fine but when i connect my ethernet cable to my laptop it says that it is connected but i can not connect to the internet. Any suggestions?

    Is this cable coming directly from a modem or a router. If directly from the modem, did you unplug it from another computer, and then plug it in to your laptop?

    Okay....that was a long meisa about comparison between linux and windows.....not a solution.

    lol he speaks the truth anyways i got it fixed, i was at another routern and i guess the router was not supported by linux but when i got home and plugged it in it was working fine. So thanks, gonna go make a a new thread.
