Try to make yourself clear , you mean by connecting drive it's HDD connected to IDE, Sata USB ?

You are not plugging in other disks correctly. Try resetting Boot Order. Linux Disk must be plugged in as Primary Master only.

Debian supports NTFS read access out of box. Install ntfs-3g package to enable NTFS write access.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

the sata drives are displayed on the desktop but i get message ( do not have permissions to view contents of " disks-conf-sdd1" )

i can look at the drives through the disc manager using browse button ,and all my files are readable

sorry if the expanations are a bit windowsy i havent adjusted yet to a new way of thinking.

    thanks dave..
