    Root password/dcp130c driver installation

    Help please for these two questions!
    To install these two drivers ie cups and lpr i need to create a root password how do i do that once that is created then how do i install the drivers i know that the lpr goes first.
    I am using debian Kubuntu 7.04 desktop version and trying to install drivers for my new brother printer. Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Regular User, that you have created during installation and root user share same password. Enter regular user's password at root password prompt.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Thanks for the reply, but this does not work. last time we installed it we had to create another password for su command is there another way you can think off

    Boot up in Single User Mode. Execute passwd command and assign new root password.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
