Hi friends,
i want to install Complete and full Debian Package.. (which contains all the options and packages) but i was really confused when i saw 21 .iso images for Debian_Etch_0r1 in the below link...
Index of /cdimage/release/current/i386/iso-cd
so what shall i do now ? if i want to install the Full Debian (with all packages present ?) do i need to download all the 21 .iso's ?? or where can i get the complete Debian package iso ??
thanks...

If you have a good internet connection, you could download the netinstall disc, install using that and then use the package manager to install everything else you need from the web. I don't think anybody needs all 21 isos.

thanks for reply daark.child

ya.. i know about netinstall disc... but i want the complte iso...
so u mean to say all the 21 CD's are different and containing different packages..?. if i need all the complete full package means i need to have all the 21 CD's ??? uff then its better to have netinstall iso i think...I don't think anybody needs all 21 isos.
but is that true that complete Debian has 21 CD's ????? !!!!!!!!

Yes it true. The entire Debian distro is on 3 dvds or 21 cds (you can see this if you go to any debian ftp mirror).

althought you only need the first debian cd (of 21) for a standard install. Then with the internet, every other package you could need is avaliable.

Simply add 2nd CD in sources.list file using 'apt-cdrom add' command.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Thanks for the reply devils_casper,
but i am using Vmware workstation on WIN XP .. say now i have that 2nd iso image in the D drive... and now i want to install that in the debian linux (Virtual machine)... so how do i achieve this ?
1)do i need to copy and paste that iso in a particular directory of debian ?
2)will all the packages be installed in the 2 CD automatically (how to do this )
3)is it enough if i just add this 2nd CD name in the sources.list file ? or do i need to do something more after this ?

I have never install any Linux OS in Virtual Machine. Sorry, I can't help you in this matter.
