    USB Keyboards and Debian install

I'm currently trying to install Debian 4 alongside Fedora on my Dell Optiplex GX-280 but am having a nightmare! The keyboard (and mouse) as USB and aren't detected in "DOS" so I cant enter the command required to start it installing.

I have tried entering the Setup to enable them at boot, but I can't press F1 to enter Setup as the USB is disabled.

I decided to ask on here for some advice or pointers before I move the hard drive to a PS2 based motherboard, install it there and then move the drive back to it's original home!

    Hope someone can help

    Chris

Try going into your BIOS and setting USB to legacy mode. This should allow you to use it as if it were PS/2 based.

Thanksa for advice, but one minor problem! Can't get into BIOS as keyboard won't work to let me press F1 to enter it!

Keyboard doesn't kick in until after that option vanishes!
