    Testing software

Hey guys. So I got Samba configured (thanks to devils_casper), all the binaries built and installed. I'm pretty sure I've done everything, but I want to be sure. Is there a way to test it? How do I actually run the program?

    hi

if i'm right you compiled samba from source.
    A question: why?

if you installed the program you it install an init script to /etc/init.d directory
    which called samba

    try this

    /etc/init.d/samba start

or start it from the install dir
