    Help with bootlogd

I've recently installed Debian Etch. I've noticed a "Fatal error acpi" scrolling by the boot screen however due to the scroll speed I cannot read the complete line. The line seems to be within the first 40 or 50 lines on boot. I would like to investigate the fault so I have installed "sysv-rc-conf" and enabled bootlogd. I've checked /var/log via grep Fatal * however found nothing on acpi error. I've searched the net and found that there seems to be a fair number of issues with bootlogd and being able to view the early stages of the boot sequence. Does anyone have any recommendations on how, short of taking a photo, I can view this line. TIA

Have you tried pressing the pause break key upon boot? I usually do that during POSTing if I get an error during POST. Who knows though, it may also work during the boot process.

I did try the pause break key but no go or should I say no stop. Thanks for your thought.
