Is it possible to run another GUI then the one wrapped in DSL? The graphics are bad, but I think it has good potential to run other GUIs....

Yes, it is possible and indeed quite easy to run a different gui, if by gui you are referring to the desktop environment. There is a pleothora to choose from for any distro. For DSL, which I believe is debian based (forgive me, I have not used it in years) you just need to use synaptic or apt-get to install whichever you like. The desktop environment that is bundled is bundled for speed and size constraints, but if your hardware supports a DE with higher sys req. then by all means, give them all a try. xfce, kde, gnome, enlightenment, icewm, ion2, afterstep, fluxbox... the list goes on, check them out, surely you will like one the best.

How would I go about making my own GUI? I want it to be like beryl- but not that demanding. And yes, by GUI I mean the Desktop Environment. How would I go about doing that?
