How to configure squid proxy server on Debian (Ubuntu)

I am running a squid proxy server on Debian (Ubuntu), Please I need assistance on the full explanation of some important line in the squid configuration file. some of the lines are:
- cache_mem
- Visible_hostname
- ufr 100 16 245
- max_object size
- Min_object size
- etc
