using newer kernel / support application
+ I use Sarge debian... thats not the problem... I love sarge... but, Ive
never been able to import PostScript files in Scribus... thus my question...
would moving to a newer kernel "fix" this for me ? Reason I ask is - with
much older versions, on Knoppix, and other live-CDs, this function works
fine in Scribus... so, having tried every imaginable combination of files, Im
thinking it may be a kernel issue, so far as this particular function.
This may not be the best place to ask scribus-specific questions, but
it may apply generally to many applications which run in Debian, so I wanted
to try... beyond which, Ive gotten no working answer to this on the Scribus
forum : - )
thanks to anyone who can help resolve this for me

No it can't be a kernel issue , i never uded Scribus , but i believe a change of a library used by Scibus can make the difference .
Linux is not only an operating system, it's a philosophy.
Archost.
