    Thoughts on qemu

    Hello,

I recently shrunk the XP partition on my hard drive in order to install Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy) on it. I work for Technowledge Networks, Inc. We provide remote access solutions for Cisco Systems and their affiliates. We use VMware on hundreds of server in our Datacenters, and they work fine for what we need them to do. I am still quite new to Linux, however, but extremely satisfied with what I have been able to do with it so far.

    My problem is this:

Our database app uses .NET framework and our interface uses activeX components and is only IE compatible.

I have been dual-booting for awhile now, and it's just not an efficient use of my time. I was thinking about installing one of the virtualization software programs out there, and having an XP client on it to run the 'microsoft only' programs we use. I have heard qemu is a popular choice. How does it compare to VMware? Is this worth my time?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my post.

    Robert

for better support I would recommend vmware. Also you could run IE using wine
    ie wine - Google Search
