USB hardward, not working under Debian

now first off, i havent put this thread into the wireless section, because i beleive its a hardware problem, not a real wireless problem...

i have a D-Link DWL-G122 USB wireless thingy, and i downloaded the drivers using Synaptic, and i am wondering... did i do the right thing???

and now, i still cant connect to the internet using the wireless... (right now, i am just using a cord)...

    thanks in advance

It's probably a firmware problem, not a hardware problem. Try using ndiswrapper for the device. Perhaps a distrobution with a newer kernel might solve your issue.
