    apt repo from var/cache/apt

I have been looking online and not sure on the best way to do it or if its even a good idea. I have several linux servers and all of them debian standard. my list of servers keeps increasing and I hate to have to redownload all the files everytime I install or update a system for every system and install I do. I know apt downloads all the files into /var/cache/apt and I was wondering if there is a way to create an apt repository for that directory and when I install a new system point it to that repo. Then I only have to manually download updates from one place and I can (not sure if I will) set the rest of the servers to autoupdate against my base server.

    thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
