After having some other problems this is what is happening when I type locales in a terminal:
carla@carla:~$ locale
locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or ...

It also blocked me from adding me as a user to sane so I could use the scanner.
I hope I am describing this ok. Someone told me earlier that the above is not aproblem. It is displayed everytime everytime I update/upgrade in the terminal.
