Installing CUPS without X
I just recently finished setting up my file server (again) and this time around I also wanted to make it a print server. So I've been reading and found out all I needed was cupsys to get it functioning. However, this server doesn't have X install since having it would just be a waste of resources and apparently cupsys depends on gs-esp which in turn depends on libx11.
My question: is there any way to get CUPS installed, and functioning, without the X dependency?
This is on a Debian Etch install.

libx11 is just the x library, its not the x server if thats what you're trying to avoid installing

Well, I'm trying to avoid anything I don't need! In this case I'm considering xlib to be useless and unnecessary, and this is what I'm trying to avoid. My /usr partition isn't that big because I wanted to leave as much space as possible for the exported file system... every little bit counts.
I just checked further and found out libx11 and all it's extra dependencies are only going to add 5MB to the install. I guess this isn't so bad, and I'm going to go ahead and install it anyway for now until, or if, I find away to not install it."Today you are freer than ever to do what you want, provided you can pay for it!" --Bad Religion
