    Can't boot installer

Hey guys, I've recently tried to install debain alongside windows xp. I've read the debian installing manual many times and I can't figure out what is wrong. The CD does not boot. First of all I downloaded debian-40r0-alpha-CD-1.iso off one of the mirror sites on debian.org. To my understanding the first one is the only neccessary one to start the installation. I checked the integrity of it and it's fine. I opened up the file with PowerISO and used that program to burn it to a CD. I put the CD in a rebooted only for windows to boot up. My BIOS configuration is set to boot up CD's. I know this works because I have a Knoppix live CD that works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi and Welcome !
Something is wrong with Debian Installation CD only. Reburn .iso image at lowest possible speed supported by your CD Burner Package. You can use Nero ( Windows based CD Burning package ) to burn .iso image. Select 'Burn Image to Disk' option in Nero.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
