I'm trying to set up a filtering proxy using squid, clamav and Dansguardian in Debian Etch. I've successfully done this on ubuntu systems and prior versions of Debian. In etch, though, I can't get DG to run unless the AV scan is disabled. If I leave AV enabled, the init script just locks up and eventually fails after a minute or two.

I cannot find any errors in /var/log/messages, /var/log/syslog/, or under /var/log/dansguardian.

Can anyone tell me if they've gotten DG to work with clamav on etch? Or how to get this thing to throw a meaningful error?
