    What kind of keyboard do you use?
    Also post your X11.conf here and how much Mhz does you CPU have?

    Do you mean xorg.conf?
    Post Keyboard section from /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    I once had the Same Problem with WindowsXP. Since the system was to Heavy for my old laptop.
    Then you get slow typing.. And I know how annoying it is.
    So maybe KDE is kinda heavy

    thanks for reply,
    using amd athlon 3000+
    cpu mhz 2162
    memory 1024
    new 160gb hhd

    unable to display /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. do i need to type anything else to list files up
    only since being on linux have i had this trouble ,also some pc
    probems, replaced graphics card ati,new chipset fan,new hhd.

    Maybe the comp is knackered!sorry.

    Have since managed to get it working again, messed around with the keyboard settings re-booted and a message came up about stopping slow keys, do you know what this is or where it originates from

    Not until we see /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
    To Display that file you might want to do:
    cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
