how to create an extended partition ?
hello
here is my partition table
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

/dev/hda9 2370 2430 489951 82 Linux swap / Solaris
I still have 27 GB free
I can't seem to find out how to create a new partition for those 27GB.
In GParted I see the 27 GB but I can not create a partition for it.
when I click new I get the error
It is not possible to create more than 4 primary partitions
you should create an extended partition
it might be necessary to remove a primary partition first
I tried removing partition 4 but I can not create an exended partition.
any help is greatly appreciated

Create a logical partition under that.

well I realised I made a mistake with the partitions so I reinstalled debian
I did not have enought space on my temp and since I did not do anything with my debian I figured reinstalling was going to solve all the problems at once
thank you for you help
