PDF Viewer Features
Hey,
Does anyone here know if it is possible to get a PDF viewer that has the capability to "search" not only through the open PDF, but through all of the PDF files for a word. I know when using Adobe on windows, it can do that; Does any Linux pdf reader have the same capability?

Adobe makes a Linux version of their reader, too, so that might do what you want.

Ah-ha; that did not come up in the synaptic/apt get list when I typed in Adobe, I guess I will just have to download it from their site.
Thanks for the info, and its nice talking to you once again ozar.

Adobe offers a deb file that should make installation easier. Check this HowTo for getting it installed properly.

Multivalent has a set of command line tools for PDFs.
I have used them before to extract text from pdf in a "find" and "grep" for
my search term. It's kinda slow but it's a command line way of doing this.
cheers, kai
