    From the command line and with root permissions, issue the following commands:

    Code:
    echo 'deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/ etch main' >> /etc/apt/sources.list
    Code:
    apt-get update
    Then try installing xorg and gnome again.

    Execute this
    Code:
    apt-get update
    apt-get dist-upgrade
    apt-get install xorg
