    knetworkmanager only works for root

    Hey I'm running etch debian and my window manager is xfce.

    When I try to run knetworkmanager as non-root I get

    Error requesting name, org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: Connection ":1.1.2" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo" due to security policies in the configuration file.
    and the manager doesn't recognize my wireless card at all. I can give details on my card, but I was wondering if anyone has seen an error like this before. I've tried searching on Google and didn't find anything useful.

    Add regular user in Powerdev group.
    In case it doesn't work, post the output of id command here.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Hey, sorry I haven't replied in awhile. I had been logging in as root. Setting up the wireless, and then logging out and logging back in as user. Well I'm tired of doing that and want to try to get this to work.

    I added myself to the powerdev group and the id commands gives me.

    gid=1000(shaggyman) groups=20(dialout),24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio), 44(video),46(plugdev),108(powerdev),1000(shaggyman )

    Basically if I load knetworkmanager as normal user it says no network device found. Even though if I use wifi-radar I can see wireless networks so I know my wireless card works.

    Also I'm not using wifi-radar because the router I'm trying to connect to uses wpa, plus my school uses like wpa-professional which uses certificates to connect.
