Write To NTFS Without Unmounting
hi,
How can i write to ntfs without Unmounting
I am able to write to ntfs in debian using the ntfs-3g driver. i can write to the drive and it saves it so long as i unmount. now in a perfect world you would unmount the drive to ensue safe removal. the only problem is that im using rdesktop full screen and my users are too stupid to disconnect..... unmount...... reconnect.... etc..
ive made it so that usb drives (FAT) don't need to be unmounted before removal.. (YES i know that its unsafe... bad for the drive.... etc.....)
is it possible to force a write to ntfs as files are copied to the removable ntfs drive. or ideally is it possible to somehow unmount the usbdrive from windows.
i thought about making a ssh script to unmount the drive from windows the problem is that it has to close anything that is using the drive and therefore closes rdesktop to unmount.
any help would be much appreciated
