How do I add users for the courier-pop service? Should be simple, but cant find anything about it. And how do I use the courier-authdaemon?...

We'll if you use "adduser <name>", it will create a user on your Debian system which can automatically be used with courier-pop. Courier-pop uses your users on your system.

I figured that too. I already had a user with my name on it. Installed the postfix package and now the courier-pop package. I can connect to the mail server with a windows machine using a mail client, and I can send mails, but cannot receive them. The client prompts for a user and doesnt want to acknowledge anyone of those I have on the system already.

I was thinking it might be because maybe courier-pop is trying to authenticate through ldap. I have installed many of the features of ldap, after reading a lesson from school about it in beforehand. But I cannot administrate it to add users yet, because I am missing some ldif files from the lesson. Cant see to get a hold on the teacher to get them, and we are not supposed to start on that lesson before after some weeks from now.

    What do you think?
