Sound in gnomad2?
Hello, and my apologies in advance if this is not the right place for this question:
Working with Debian Etch 4.0, KDE 3.5, gnomad2 v2.8.8. Everything works fine (most of the time). I also get sound out of my system in amarok, I get system notification sounds, etc. I get sound from youtube videos in firefox (iceweasel actually), mplayer and realplayer both output sound. So sound server (whichever that is, I believe both alsa and Y are loading) is working.
Using the "play track" or "play playlist" feature in gnomad2 - sure enough, a screen comes up with previous/next buttons and a slider, the track title and remaining time etc., but no sound.
I've tried the --enable-sound switch on the command line, same result. I've also noticed the --espeaker=HOSTNAME:PORT switch, but I have no idea how to begin to find out the port number I should be using. In any case, these command-line options produce errors ("invalid option" followed by each letter of the option, even though I got them from the man page). But I also noticed the options are GNOME library options, so they may not even apply to gnomad2 itself
Here's the relevant output from lsusb:
Any thoughts, anyone?Code:Bus 002 Device 014: ID 041e:4110 Creative Technology, Ltd Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra
Many thanks!
