    Debian - Proxy Server

    Newbie - please be patient

    I have just built a basic debian box using the net install iso. I would like to build a proxy server that authenticates just by username or ip whichever is easier.
    Could somebody please tell me what software I need to install to acomplish this project.
    The box has only got one ethernet card installed.

    Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Is squid all I need? Will that authenticate? Can I view the logs through a web interface?
