[SOLVED] problems trying to go from etch to sid
Hi,
I am trying to go from from etch dist to sid dist.
My kernel version in etch is 2.6.18.xx and sid is 2.6.24.xx
While I used this command
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
it failed at some point. Here is log of what I might need to solve before knowing what else went wrong

You probably should have used dist-upgrade instead of upgrade. What happens when you run
Code:aptitude update aptitude dist-upgrade

I am trying your commands let me come back with the output..
also what is the main problem here ? any hints to diagnize this problem ?....

The problem is related to the acpi package. It seems like there is some sort of problem with the scripts.
