Strange (keyboard?) behavior
I have a very weird problem and I'm not even sure how to explain it. Using Debian sid, KDE 3.5.
At mostly regular intervals (every 30-60 seconds), it's as if the Alt key is pressing itself. For instance, if I'm in an application window and I don't do anything for 30-60 seconds, suddenly the first menu item in the menubar will be selected (but not dropped down), the same as if I had pressed the Alt key. I have a Windows XP virtual machine that I run occasionally for school work and it happens there, too -- the first menu item in whatever application I'm in will suddenly select itself. I hope this description of the problem makes sense.
The problem started sometime very recently as far as I can tell -- I didn't notice it before tonight while working in the Windows VM. I have not the slightest idea what's going on here. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Have you tried a different keyboard?

The problem seems to have gone away. I don't know exactly what I did that fixed it, but it was likely one or more of the following (I did all these between the time I made my OP and this post):
1. Unplugging my USB joystick
2. aptitude update (there were 319 updates, maybe one of them fixed it)
3. Disabling keyboard layouts in Control Center
4. Disabling NXServer (NoMachine)
*shrug* Linux, the good child that occasionally tries to draw on the walls.
