Unhappy need help installing debian on a crippled laptop

i'm trying to install etch on a dell inspiron 8100 (laptop).
the cdrom locked up (that's a whole other thread...) and the internal nic fried when i spilled beer, so no cd or pxe installs...
the bios is up to date and there is no boot from usb option.

winXP is installed. i have a floppy drive. the HD is 60gb and i COULD dual boot. i can resize the xp partition and make ext filesystems manually if needed. i tried the debian installer for xp and it worked up to the point of looking for my pcmcia wireless card (actiontec 802ctg).

is there a way i can get the wireless pcmcia nic to work with the debian installer? can i make it use files on a windows partition for install? any ideas would be appreciated!

    Welcome to the forums!

Check out unetbootin to see if it will work for you. I've never tried it so don't know if it will work under your particular circumstances.

    Good luck with it.
