Question Panel - Not Working/Responding (solved)

hi.. I am a linux newbie.. i use Debian Etch with GNOME..
    The problem started like this..
I right clicked on panel (at the bottom of desktop) -> ADD TO PANEL -> XPENGUINS.
Immediately the window(which pops up when we choose ADD TO PANEL) became NOT RESPONDING. so i rebooted.
When it rebooted, all the ICONS in top & bottom panels) were missing !!
When i right-click on the empty area of panel, NOTHING happens

i tried this command: killall gnome-panel
But no use. Still both the panels aren't working.

i don know wat to do.. someone please help me..

Thanks.. I did that too.. (in fact, those penguins never appeard )

But I solved the problem somehow
When i logged in as another user, i found the panels were proper.
So i copied the .gconf from that user's home directory to my home directory.

Now i'm able to configure the panels as i wish
