Which one is best for me ?
Hello ! I'm working on getting linux (just to check it out, ive had it once,for a short while, on an orther computer, i belive it was Knoppix i was running) i downloaded ia64 debian but when i boot whit the dvd (whit the downloaded image) it doesnt really understand whats happending.. i dont know if im useing the right version of debian.. So my Question is.. which linux whould be ideal for me? (if its not too much bother hehe)
My specs are:
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz
2.99 GHz, 512 RAM
Gfx card
GeForce 6600
Please help, thanks (Hope my english is understandable)

IA64 is not a desktop CPU, you should use amd64 for 64-bit installation or i386 for 32-bit. I recommend you download netinstall ISO image, it was around 200 MB if my memory serves me correct. Itanium processors (IA64) are designed for hi-performance servers.
