I´m experincing a trouble trying to boot etch version using Adaptec 2120 raid controller.

HW config.
HP tc2120 PIV 2,8GH 2GB memory installed
Adaptec 2120 with raid 5 volume

Using Debian 4.0r3 DVD.

Soft instalation can be executed correctly, partitioning disks, etc, full process. But, at the boot time, this message appears in the screen:
...mounting root file system.....

Then, the system takes some time and initramfs prompt appears.

I've tested same hw configuration with sarge (3.1r5 and 3.1r versions and the system boots correctly.

I've tested another hw config using an IDE disk for root file system and the raid volume for /var, /opt, /usr file systems. This configuration works fine but it's not ideal.

I can provide more data about this issue. I can see differences at the time of the raid device discovery process.
