    how to setup router/firewall

Hello to everyone here. i am a newbie when it comes to setting up router/firewall. I have set up my router/firewall, at the moment I could ping all the LAN machines from the router machine and I could router from the LAN machines as well. But my biggest problem is , I cannot go online from any of the LAN machines.
I use debian mini to set up router machine and all my LAN machines are sabayon Linux.
please can anyone tell me where my problem might lies ? I use DHCP for the LAN machines so they get their IPs automatically.
    The /etc/resolv.conf
    search mymachine
    nameserver 192.168.10.1

    I need help please.

The output of the route command will be helpful.

Maybe it's a wrong gateway. (The destination the LAN clients use a the first stop when they want to reach something in the Internet.)

This gateway should be the router.

Here is something you might want to try. It has been written for Ubuntu but should work here as well.
