Just what the title says-- there are so many IRC clients available under Debian, I'd like to hear from as many as possible before choosing one. Thanks!...

I prefer to use xchat-gnome but I occasionally use irssi or the IRC functionality in pidgin. Each have their own benefits.
Also don't forget we have a channel here too; it's #linuxforums on irc.freenode.net. It's not too busy at the moment but all are welcome

I personally use B*tchX most of the time for IRC as I'm generally just on one network, but when I connect to multiple networks at the same time I'll generally use XChat to keep things nice and neat.

If you want your IRC on the command line, then IRSSI is good.
For the Gnome desktop environment, I like Xchat. For KDE, I prefer Konversation.
Most IRC clients are available by download for free, so there's really no reason to restrict yourself to just one. Why not try several of them and decide for yourself which one you prefer?
Like a previous poster said, they all have their benefits. Do let us know what you go with.

I settled on KVIRC 3 because I run KDE, I like having the latest and newest, and KVIRC has the server-selection method that was most convenient for me. And besides, it looks cool!
