I am a debian newbie and would like to find a debian driver for my chromatic research mpact2 video card/chip. Folk on chat have told me "good luck". If I can not find the exact driver how do I know in the list of drivers that comes with debian kernel etch is the best to use with this. Video works just fine while I am active in it but if I leave it for a number of hours and come back to it I have to restart in order to operate. Also unless I change my display depth to 16 I only have 800X??? or 640X??? instead of the 12??X??? that I desire.

A secondary problem with drivers is that I have a brother mfc-5840cn printer that is attached to an xp box that I would like to use from my debian box but I can not find debian drivers for the printer either. Thanks for your expert help in advance.
