i have installed debian well when i go to shut down the computer it goes through the process but when it stops it says system halted and doesnt do anything ...

debian wont shut down.
i have installed debian well when i go to shut down the computer it goes through the process but when it stops it says system halted and doesnt do anything else , ihave to push the button to finish the shutdown..thanks

Post the kernel line from /boot/grub/menu.lst file here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
