Can a 56K fax win modem be configured to work with Debian? Presently, it is not recognized so I have no internet access.

You will have to find out if your modem is either HCF or HSF
The software to identify your modem can be downloaded from here:
http://<br /> <a href="http://www.l....php</a><br />
Once you know which type you have, download the drivers and install.
However, because you will be downloading the freeware version of the software, you will only get half the speed you require. You will have to pay for the full 56k version.

HCF or HSF
I have a similar problem, what is the difference between the two and how can I tell what my modem is.
I've asked the before but got no answer. Can I download drivers and software for linux using a pc running windows. I will save it to a disk and then load it onto the linux pc.

And yes you can download the files in Windoze and put them on floppy.
