[SOLVED] Integrity Test Failed
I installed Debian OK yesterday from DVD 1.
This morning, I rebooted into DVD 1, hoping to add packages for console mouse gpm, kernel sources, and gcc, unsure of the possibility of adding those packages, or even if I had installed them yesterday.
DVD 1 failed to load the installer, and then an Integrity Test Failed:
"The
../pool/contrib/a/avi-file/avifile-win32-plugin_0.7.44.20051021-2.2tb1_i386.deb file failed the MD5 checksum identification. Your CD-ROM or this file may have been corrupted"
<continue>
I quit the upgrade attempt, and was able to find and install gpm with dpkg, but is the failed DVD integrity test a concern?

This used to happen frequently with Fedora integrity tests and the disks were often found to be good even though they failed the test.
I've not heard of it happening much with Debian, so unless someone else posts saying that it's a bug, I don't know that I'd trust the disk to be without errors.oz

DVD 1 Integrity Test Succeeded
After wiping clean DVD 1, and retrying, it's OK. Please excuse the false alarm.

Ok, thanks for the update.
I'll close this as "solved" since it's working now.oz
