how to "find how the server got shut down".

I have 3 possibilities of how my server went down.
    1. power off button pressed ( or power cut ).
    2. because of some issue system got down automatically.
    3. or some other issued shutdown command.

Now i want a way to find, which of the above made my server down, or some other thing did that.

I have gone through the syslog, but i cannot figure out exactly. Can anyone please guide me to do.

( sorry, i have did a google search, but unable to find. )
