    Default root password

edit: I searched around more and found this:

    Code:
    sudo passwd root
Then enter a new unix password

    Code:
    su
    + password makes you root

Real Debian does have a root password which you create during installation. But what this guy is using is a Debian derivative. A basic rule of thumb is that if root is allowed to login, you'll be asked to set a root password when you install; if you aren't, then this distro uses sudo like *buntu and Knoppix.
