Getting CRC Error message when installing Debian on Compaq Presario 1220 Laptop

In trying to install Debain on my Compaq Presario 1220 Laptop, the install process gets to an error,

    "CRC Error

    - System Halted"

When I try to install the same software from the same disk on my IBM Thinkpad T22, I have no problem. How do I fix this problem?

The CD Drive is having issues reading from the disc. Try burning the disc on another brand of media, eg. TDK, Verbatim, Phillips, etc...

CRC is a thing to do error correction, I think.

I have burned 7 different distros of Linux on Maxwell CD-R media and they all read well. I will try other media. Thanks.
