Hey all,

I just installed Debian on my laptop. After many attempts at installing it, and the installer getting stuck at the "Scanning the mirror" screen and rebooting, I managed to get the thing installed.

Now, I need help setting up my sound. I have installed ALSA, but I'm not sure what else I need. My soundcard is a on-board SoundMax High Definition Sound Card.

Do I need to set something so ALSA can open the sound card and play sound to it? Can someone please give me instructions to do this?

Thanks a bundle,
Coburn 64

EDIT: It seems to have detected my soundcard correctly, and the volume was muted. Hm...
